The task of rehabilitating a long-dormant farm and estate house was a bit more complicated that we first imagined. What first seemed a relatively straight-forward restoration project was, in fact, fraught with surprises and pitfalls. As with any classic home restoration project, there really isn’t a finish date to the project; an older home is like a ship at sea, constantly demanding repairs and upkeep to counter the unrelenting deterioration and wear of constant use and a steady battering from the forces of nature. So the neat and linear timeline we set out to achieve turned out to be anything but. While our project plan may have had a clear starting point, it certainly has no end point within sight!
